The next-generation PMAG 30 AR/M4 GEN M3 is a 30-round polymer magazine for AR15/M4-compatible weapons in 5.56×45 NATO / .223 Remington caliber. In addition to enhanced features and compatibility, the GEN M3 incorporates new material technologies and manufacturing processes for improved strength, durability and reliability that exceed stringent military performance specifications.

While the GEN M3 is optimized for Colt-specific AR15/M4 platforms, the modified internal and external geometry also enables operation with a number of other weapons, such as the HK® 416/MR556A1/M27 IAR, the British SA-80, the FN® SCAR™ MK 16/16S and others.

Similar to the MOE® PMAG, the GEN M3 features a durable stainless steel spring to USGI specification, four-way anti-tip, constant curvature internal geometry for reliable feeding and simple, tool-free disassembly for easy cleaning.

The PMAG 30 GEN M3 also features a redesigned bolt catch notch in the rear of the magazine, which increases the clearance for the bolt catch, while an overtravel stop on the magazine spine ensures that the magazine cannot be drawn in too far with compatible weapons. Low profile ribs and a new, aggressive texture on the front and rear provide good control of the GEN M3 in all environments. A dot matrix has been added to the bottom plate of the case for easy identification marking. The new, easy to disassemble, flared floorplate makes the magazine easier to extract and handle while providing improved drop protection, but is slightly slimmer than before for better compatibility with tight double and triple magazine pouches. An included pop-off impact/dust cover can be optionally used to minimize debris intrusion and protect the upper cartridge from potential damage during storage and transport.
